I brought at least 5, and was going to have my mom ship me some more if needed. So far, I have used 1 ! I use it every day, after showers, and sometimes a few times a day in the summer. It's a normal stick size, and I would say that I am a sweater.

Are people out there seriously needing to use one stick a month?

p.s. I have been here for almost a year! Maybe I just have a super-pit-stick.

You are correct, the instruction should be "bring a year's supply of your favorite toiletries" rathar than say bring 12 sticks because each person may have different consumption needs.

Yes, You are correct in your saying I am correct, but I have to find the threads that tell people to bring 12 months worth of deodorant! Although I may be wrong, but I think it's funny that I brought 4, and have only used one! From the advice, I thought I would be using one every month!

I brought i half used stick with me. It takes easily over 6 months to finish one normal sized stick. When I ran out i bought another stick for 6,000 won. Yeah overpriced, but nothing to really worry about.

I don't know how a command could be a lie. Maybe misleading or unnecessary, but not a lie.

If I tell you to 'sit down', is that a lie?

Depends really if the summer really gets to you.

In the summer you might end up having a few showers a day so you might be using a few more deodrant sticks.

What's the big deal? It didn't take a lot of space in your luggage and it's not like it was expensive. Better overprepared than under in my book...

But then again, most of the people on here are guys who probably need more of that stuff than us ladies do.

i definitely use more than 1 in a five month period...i find it pretty surprising someone wouldn't have a rough idea about how much deodorant he/she uses in a year...unless it was his/her first time using the stuff.

that said, probably about 6 sticks would be enough for me.

That is a very good point. I mean, it's a suggestion not a commandment from on high....or is it?

I bought 12 back in 2004 and they were gone in about a year and a half, I think. But that coincides with my tae kwon do training and general fitness habits. I don't even want to know how many I went through when I was running....

I agree. When a friend of mine came here from Canada he was going through the stuff pretty quickly cause he wasn't used to the heat

If someone told me "12 months worth of d." I would think they meant 12 sticks. Why did you think it did? Perhaps that is why you are confused.

I'm not confused. I just think it's funny. I guess I can understand maybe how guys use more because they have hair in the armpit and it will get hotter...

I guess I am just surprised because I remember the threads with the topics concerning what to bring always stress bringing deodorant, and I have not used as much as I thought it would. It was defnitely hot in the summer, but then I just did one or two more swipes on my pits.

How about recognizing something laughable?

I say we start telling newbies they need to bring toasters.

"Koreans eat rice everyday" (newbies already know this, so we got 'em half in the bag already) "and they don't know about toast. Only toasters available are imported and they're, like, 120,000 won and up. But don't worry, toasters are big but they're light, so they won't affect your luggage allowance that much."

How about it?
