| I just arrived in Seoul this past Wednesday night and so far I am feeling slightly overwhelmed. I have another foreign teacher who I work with who has been helping me out, but he has been here a couple of months and has his own friends to hang out with. I live like a minute away from the Suyu Station on Line 4 and have only seen maybe 1 other foreigner. I want to explore Seoul and the rest of South Korea as well but think it would be more fun to do with someone I can communicate clearly with. Is there a website out there to meet other foreigners who live in your area? I don't want a personals site. I am not looking to date anyone right now, I just want to hang out and explore. So if anyone knows of a site could you let me know. Thanks. |

Hey I know how you feel, I think everyone on here has experienced the same. Ive been here almost 2 months now so starting to get into life here a bit more, meeting more people etc. But for the first month I never went anywhere but my area (bundang) Now im exploring seoul every weekend. Give it some time and u will be too.
Im not sure about any websites could only suggest google searching for something that interests you (dancing, sport whatever) and try to join a local club.
I think im on the opposite side from seoul from you but if you wanted to meet up with people sure there is lots to see in the middle lol. If you wanna chat or that give me a message. Hope it all works out for ya. allan |

| Yeah THIS site. Don't worry you'll gradually establish friendships. For a start, go explore the mountains. Suyu is so close to Bukhansan/Dobongsan. Even if hiking isn't your thing, give it a shot and you might just love it. |

Still partial to the old Big Macs so it's a battle I'm winning by a slim margin. Didn't care about hiking before Korea, but I totally love it now! Anyway we should get off this persons thread haha! |

| OP, maybe start a more specific thread for your location? "Anyone in or near Suyu want to meet up...?" |

The bars you'll see foreigners at are Dragon Bar (I guess now it's Dragon & Danny's Bar, so stupid) and Woodstock. Dragon Bar is near Suyu Station, Exit 1 (?). Woodstock is down the walking street, after the intersection, on the right.
Word of warning, there's been a lot of foreigner on foreigner crime around there lately. Be wary of the tall drunk South African. |

There's a number of us a few stops south in Hyehwa if you are in the area. I do think Suyu has more foreigners though. We're always up for a drink or a coffee.
Cheers and welcome. |

Try this website, they have lots of tours and events organized specifically for foreigners. Although, I think some people have had some issues with the owner/event planner. But, it is a step towards meeting other foreigners as well as taking tours arounds Korea.
If you come North a little, up to Nowon Station, there is an area not far from there, called Junggye Dong, specifically Eun-Hang Sagori (Intersection of 4 banks) There are tons of foreigners in this neighborhood, as well as a Bagel shop, where many foreigners go for lunch.
The nightlife in the Nowon (right by Nowon station, Dragon Bar, No Block, Number 10...) area might find you some other foreigners.
Good luck, you will certainly find some people to hang out with. |
