Hi,
I'm thinking of renting a two-bedroom apartment near Korea University or Anam station. I'd like to know if anyone on this site has an apartment near there and if so, what kind of rent I would have to pay if I put down 20,000,000 won key money? Even if it isn't in the area, I'd still like to know what kind of rent one would have to pay if they lived on that side of town or near that area. Thanks.

I live near Korea university. My building is across the road from the Korean international defense institute. But I can't comment on prices because my wife just inherited our apartment (and a few more) in our building, so we don't really pay anything...because they're paid off.

I can ask her if she knows how to answer your question though.

Hey you guys, know what's really cool around this neck of the woods? Right across the skreet from the LPG gas station there is a huge forestry reserve park...you can walk around and smell the fresh pines and other cool trees n stuff...you'll really like it. Very nice.

KyungHee university is 1 kilometer up the street and theres some pretty cool, laid back drinking places there too. Lots of cool scandinavians go there for beerskis and relaxing times.

Right across the street from the SK GAS STATION in that pic.

ALSO, make sure that you stop by and say hi to the two great Pyrenese white fluffy doggies that live right next to the forest park. The dogs live almost adjacent to the forest park, but they're part of Korea Defense Institute. You can't miss em, they're really friendly if you give them a buscuit too Very Happy

K, couple more items of interest.

1) If you're getting off at Korea Univ station on the subway, you want to position yourself at train car number 3-4. That is the closest car to the stairwell, in fact - it's right next to the stairs closest to the next level where the escalator is that takes you up to the area where the turnstyles are, trust me on this.

2) If you're looking at that map I posted, right in front of the dogs is a bus stop. That bus stop is where 273 picks you up. 273 also stops in front of Korea univ too, but anyway...273 goes to all the chognos, Kwangwhamun, etc.

That's all for now.

Very Happy

OP,

Wife said it depends on the building. But her best guess is anywhere between 200-500K won a month. She said it really depends on the quality and condition of the building and apartment.

Our building is 15 years old. When we have a resident leave, the new resident pays between 50-70 million won key money- but no rent.

The alternative to this would be a much smaller key deposit, and 500K a month. Something along those lines.

Hope this helps.
