Hey everyone,
I just thought I would post something really awesome that has happned to me so as to prove that living and working in Korea is not all doom and gloom. Just yesterday my grandfather passed away and I have decided to go home for the funeral. The support of my staff was so overwhelming the principal and the staff insisted that me taking time off to go home was more than ok.
The most suprising and heartwarming thing that happned though was the 4th grade staff prepared a "White Envlope" for me. In that white envlope there was some money. I feel like that working in Korea has been such a reward (not just monetary for all you cynics) and I know it may get tough but I just wanted to say that I love Korea and I think there are the crazies, but there are lot of Korean people if you can find that are so warm if you are warm to them.
I LOVE YOU KOREA!
Any suggestions for what I could give my staff for their support would be greatly appreciated. |

Seems you've been accepted into the 'circle'. If so, No surprise...
the money is part of a 'floating' fund (there are many).
The appropriate response is to stay 'in the loop' and pass it on to the next
staff member needing to cover funeral expenses.
Do remember to bring back some souvenir 'trinkets' for them all. |
