Has anyone bought the Epson CX2905 printer/scanner at EMart? It seems like a good price, at 60 Kw. It uses inexpensive ink cartridges that go for 7 Kw each - one black, T0751, and three separate color cartridges, T0752, 3 and 4. Comes with an extra black cartridge.

My main concern is the ink life. Reviews in this regard are not good. Almost sounds like it uses ink just sitting still.

It uses the old style ink, not waterproof, which US epson printers no longer use. This makes me wonder if the ink refill kits might work well with this printer, and I wondered if anyone has experience with this series?

I don't need to do a lot of printing. I can do most of my BW at work. But it would be nice to have something at home, too.

Your thoughts?

I'm using an Epson CX3905.....I would guess it's similar to the CX2905.........it doesn't seem to use the ink any faster than my old HP printer. Plus, it has the advantage of seperate cartridges for each color. With other printer brands you have one tri-color cartridge which will stop working even if only one of the colors has finished. I think the Epson system is much better and customer-friendly.

All the ink-jet printers out there will cost you a fortune in ink if you do much color printing. It's such a scam. A lot of printers are being sold right now at the price of just 3-4 four new cartridges. They're basically giving the printers away just so you will buy expensive ink for years to come.

Negative.

I have an HP C6180. Maybe on its own it would be an ink *beep*, but I have an external ink set-up and it's dirt cheap as far as ink goes.

My ink is about to run out and when it does I'll be moving to the same system and a new printer since my current printer cannot be converted over.
