My soon to be boss has informed that when she went to the immigration office to book our china trip for january ( we will be arriving in Korea late december) that I could not leave the country because I am canadian, however my boyfriend who is american can leave???? does this make any sense???

I was ion korea for a year last july to july and i travelled out of the country?? Is this because of the new e-2 guidelines or is this a "korean miscommunication"?

He will have a multi-entry visa. You will have to apply for a re-entry permit which requires you to have your ARC first.

With the new regulations it looks like you need to have your medical from in the country done before you can get your ARC.

With the uncertainly around new visas it makes perfect sense.

Surely, you're allowed to leave? You're just not allowed to come back unless you get the multiple-entry before you leave (or as you leave.)

you can leave, but the visa will be cancelled without the re-entry stamp
