Gotten into many over there, even with women. Not proud of that last one, but it was a matter of protecting personal property. Couple of guys/gals ticked me off so bad I had no alternative, one woman even trying to claw my face when my hands were full so I had to 'disable' her with a kick. But still feel it was my fault.

Koreans are so vocal it's hard to tell if they're being serious or are going to slug you. They act so 'fighting mad.' Then they get in your face, even grab your shirt, intimidate you. In general though, it all just seems to be bluffing.

But I'm looking for what constitutes self-defense. In regards to one incident, I'd felt I was acting along these lines. Apparently, in the states you can use self-defense if someone's even trying to damage your personal property. This had happened to me in Korea. What property, I don't want to say.

Since I've been in Taiwan I haven't gotten into any scrapes. Felt like it at times-terrible rules of the road-but didn't react. In Korea, I feel the Koreans get way too out of line and just wonder if any of you have had conflicts in the area.

This topic has been done to death. Don't ever fight a Korean. If you do, run like hell.

The law here was not made to protect us. It was made to protect Koreans from us.

Nothing normal in these parts. Malcontents, religious zealots, neocon trolls, people with no lives of their own, and adults who act like 8 year olds are leading the pack and teaching Korea's future, at least from this vantage point. And we wonder why the locals have such a bitter attitude toward us? Pfffffffft.

A lot of korean behaviour would be seen as definitely asking for a fight if it was in the west. here, its just hot air, who shouts loudest wins. And who prompts the other into attacking first wins big at the cop shop.

Some really messed up behaviour.

Never been in a fight in my life (off the rugby pitch that is).

Getting in fights, especially as an adult, is pretty low.

I used to think so. I had some guy in his mid-40s at 3 Alley literally ask me to "step outside" so we could fight because he got angry when he called me an idiot monolingual American (he's a Brit, I think) and I responded in Korean, which he ironically does not understand.

I try to imagine my dad exhibiting behavior like that.. it's just impossible. Go to Itaewon and you see a lot of immaturity, though.

I have only ever even come close to fighting once here. And it was with a foreigner. He walked up to us at a bar (we knew him) and in front of all of us told my buddy her girlfriend was a *beep* and that he saw her cheating on him (even though it was a lie). Other than that, nothing. I have never even come close to fighting with a Korean. I have 0 desire to get into fights.

words of wisdom.

what kind of "gay fighting" are you into? is it nude fighting with men that makes it gay? or is there lubricant involved?
