So, it seems, and after having spoken to other teachers in my district, that most teachers are only going to 1-day of this 2-day program, either on the Wednesday or the Thursday.

I'm getting taken down to Changwon on Wednesday morning and getting picked up on Thursday evening, meaning I'll be down there for both days. Is anyone else scheduled for both days or have my co-teachers made yet another glorious blunder?

I'm told that it's just one day event on Wednesday, 11/7.

I'm so lucky that the middle school inspector wants me to meet him that day. That way I don't have to call in to take my first ever sick day at this job just so that I can have a miraculous recovery at 9.00AM and go into work.

YBS,

You will be missed. The ghost of general Lee is going to ask why you did not pay homage to him. I will tell him you had to go to Japan. Wink

BS.Dos.,

Me thinks your co-teacher has his 'wires crossed'.

My classes were really great today! Even the one kind of lame academic HS class wasn't nearly as lame as it usually is. and now at 12.10 I'm all done until it's time to go meet some big-wigs. Thanks so much Mr School Inspector for asking to see me today so that I could teach instead of spending the day getting herded on and off ferries and turtleships (that I've already been on) in a 129-strong waegook parade.

Just got back late (thanks in part to some knob called Keith from Tongyeong who did a runner and didn't tell anyone that he was going meaning that we all had to sit around for ages while our guides tried to track him down. Suffice to say, they didn't. Keith, you are a moron) after a 13-hour round trip.

Apart from Keith going AWOL, it was ok, although far too much time was spent either on the bus, getting off the bus or getting back on the bloody bus.

Nice to network and share a few small, dry Sherries with some of the other FTs though (You know who you are Wink )

I had a great time yesterday. After a boring meeting with the big-wigs we had a fantastic dinner of smoked duck and then went noraebanging until I don't remember when. In fact I don't even remember how I got home last night. I do remember C___ and me making a complete butchery of 'Where is the Love'.

I can just think of my name replacing Keith's had I been dragged along, lol.

You didn't miss anything, but I guess you already knew that, although you were missed, although not nearly as much as Keith.

Think we should start a "Who is Keith?" thread.

I'll knock up a few T-shirts.

So who was running the show? Anyone who was anyone in the school district was at the meeting & dinner last night, although it seems I was the only white public school teacher asked to attend.

This weekend I talked with a bunch of the teachers who went on the trip. Apparently 'Kieth' tried to pull a runner but the chief waegook handler managed to track him down ... through his Korean wife ... who happens to be a public school teacher. Can you imagine how embarrassing that must have been for her?
