Ok seriously...the decor is tacky as hell (faux grecian columns are so not my thing), but gotta admit I wouldn't mind living here even if it meant that I have to give up my humble villa.
Nice view of the Han River, killer bathroom, real hardwood floors, marble countertops....how much do you think a place like costs either to buy or rent? And who can afford to live here? Even if you're making over six figures, you couldn't afford to live in a place like this in this part of town with this kinda view and amenities. |

What a load of absolute bullocks. WTF are you talking about?
Your post implies this IS your new place but you go on to say that you wouldn't mind living there .... followed up by a SECOND post with photos of another apartment ... STILL not yours.
Are you mental? What? |

The UN Village pad will be at least 4,000,000W a month... a friend of mine was renting a top floor apartment in one of the villas over there... 3 bed, high ceilings, wrap-around balcony and fantastic views in a great neighbourhood |

man... that apartment is death to look at. it's so lame. faux grecian columns? i think it speaks to some koreans' desires to be tranported back to aristrocratic nobility. is this why every apartment complex is called a castle or noblesse? |

It's not just tacky, for the obscene price they probably charge, it's an embarrassment. Looking at those pics, you can tell the building materials are so damn cheap: crappy looking pretentious-as-*beep* styrofoam entrance pillars , flimsy walls you could probably trip and fall through, fake marble linoleum (and something that looked like Pergo laminate - no real 'hardwood' as far as I could see), and the fugliest looking air-brushed painting of a lobster I've ever seen.
As if 'luxury' could be mass-produced, those kinds of rip off places are a dime a dozen to build. It looks like they spared quite a lot of expense, though they no doubt charge an arm and a leg to whatever yuppies are dumb/vain enough to buy into it... sure it's large, but you could probably get yourself a whole house for the same price somewhere else. I'm all for location, but finding something with a bit of character takes priority even if it's way smaller.
The one in the second link was a bit nicer imo. |

I look at the pictures and, minus the cheesy columns, think, "Wow, an actual home." You're looking at 4 mil a month for one of those places like they are the height of luxury. To me they just look like regular places with real kitchens, real bathrooms, etc. |

IF you're going to dream big, at least dream about something with a yard. At least two of my friends have them, in the middle of Seoul |

I hate mowing grass. Just give me something steps from a grocery store, a subway station, and a Starbucks. |

Yeah, awesome view and location, but the decor is absolutely horrendous. So nouveaux riche!
