Does anyout out there row? I did crew at my university and was hoping to get back into - any information/suggestions?

In Ulsan a full regatta takes place once a year lasting some considerable time.

But on the whole, you're going to be disappointed. It's elusive and ephemeral, and you'll ne'er be in the right place or avenue.

Basically, only unis do this type of thing and god knows where they are.

Rather just arrange your efforts toward the job and do pushups.

You can row and rent a scull out in Misari (the Olympic rowing/canoeiing venue).

What is the best way to get to Misari? Is there a train and/or bus? Do you know anything about rental costs?

Bus is easiest way, then taxi out to the course. Dunno costs. I haven't been there in more than 10 years.

If your in the vicinity of Seoul National University you might make some inquiries there; the university has crew. Some where in town there is a man made lake created for the Seoul Olympics. To find out more you should contact University Athletics.

If you go to Misari, go downstairs underneath the stands. Beside the fitnes area is the guy who takes care of things. I was there over a year ago. There is no formal payment method that I know for rowing. Just cut a deal. I paid 20,000 won for an hour on a scull.

I just finished 20 min on my erg. 5,000 m . Now time to get some pasta into me. My recommendation is to bring an erg from Canada if you'll be here more than a year. I brought mine as oversized luggage, cost $36 bucks with Air Canada.

Are you sure about all the airlines? It varies (atleast in the States and Can.) a lot. We had a thread going for a long time on the Concept boards about this. So many Brits especially would come to America and pack up a new erg and save enough to pay for the flight and loads of N.Y. 's best dining..... British Airways had the best deal with oversized luggage/sports stuff.

But too bad if it isn't the case in N.Z. Strange for it being such a sports crazy country? I'm heading there next year for the 24 hour traverse and I'll have to be careful about the gear....
