Okay, so I buy about 10 dvds from Yongsan every two weeks or so.

Whilst I want to keep my favorites, the majority fall into the

'Good movie, but not in a hurry to watch it again'

Category.

I have around 30 DVD's I'd like to exchange. All are good quality. Some have all the bonus features too.

Anyway, I forgot to bring the list of the movies I want to exchange to school today, but like I said, I have 30 decent movies to exchange (including American Gangster; A Short film about Killing; 3:10 to Yuma)

If you'd be up for exchanging, reply to this thread or pm me and 2moro or tonite I'll post the movies I have.

You post the list of the ones you have to exchange and which ones of mine you'd like (or if I have 20 that you don't have and you have 20 I don't, we can just exchange 20 for 20) and then we can arrange to swap at the weekend in a central location.

Cheers

Good idea. We could swap, but I'm afraid my selection may leave a little to be desired... Here's what I have available:

RV
Four Brothers
Lucky Number Slevin
Jackass 3
Meet the Fockers
King Kong
Nacho Libre
A History of Violence
Cinderella Man
Shrek 3
March of the Penguins

Also, the quality may be suspect in many of those... Confused

Actually, I'd be willing to give them away just to save space.

I liked Cinderella Man and Meet the Fockers. Thoguht the rest were awful. I wouldn't mind seeing Nacho Libre as that's the one I haven't seen yet on your list.... Perhaps if a few more people are interested, we could do a group meeting in the Wolfhound Pub in Itaewon on a Sunday at 1pm, like that guy who does the book exchange...?

How many folks would be up for that...? Come in and show what you've got and exchange with those who want to.

I also have at least 50 dvd's I like but don't want to keep.

I'll post a list later on...

I think a monthly DVD exchange at a venue in central Seoul like you mentioned would be great!

Why spend 20,000 a week on dvd's when you can exchange...?

Seems like a cool idea.

Hi there. Here is the list of DVD's I have to exchange right at this moment. All but one (A Mighty Heart) are very good visual and sound quality. All the foriegn language films have english subtitles and around half of the films also have the bonus features too.

Mimi's Firsts
American Gangster
A Short Film About Killing (Hard hitting, stylish, by Polish director Kryslowski)
Breaking and Entering (Anthony Minghella, Jude Law, J Binoche)
The Suicide kings (decent thriller with Cristopher Walken)
A Mighty Heart
This is England (pretty decent skinhead movie / period piece
The City of Lost children (from Jenet and Caro, directors of Delicatessen)
Breach (political/spy thriller, excellent character acting by Chris Cooper)
The Edukators (decent German movie, very stylish and raw.)
Letters to Iwa Jima (solid Clint Eastwood direction, lush cinematography)
Ong Bak (high octane, very famous thai martial arts film)
Last Days (stylish Gus Van Sant imagining of K.Cobains last days)
Memoirs of a Geisha (good popcorn film with lush visuals)
The Last Emperor (won 9 oscars, say no more, Bertolucci's Opus)
Facing Windows (poignant Italian thriller about the past & obsession)
Die Hard 4 (does what it says on the tin.... popcorn movie)
A History of Violence (Cronenberg)
Zodiac (solid, engaging serial killer thriller from fight club's David Fincher)
3:10 to Yuma (Western with great performance from Russel Crowe)
Triumph of the Will (Actual documentary filmings of Hitler's Nuremburg Rallies.)
Sayonara (Brando)
Nixon (Oliver Stone, Anthony Hopkins)
Stalin Documentary
Mussolini Documentary

As you can see they're all (okay die hard 4 an exception) decent solid films, so I'd only be willing to swap for like quality movies. I do like decent hollywood comedies too like Dodgeball, me you and dupree etc, so don't let my selction give you the impression they have to be foriegn / arthouse/indie only....

Anyhow, give us a shout and let me know what you have that you'd part with and maybe we can arrange a swap at the weekend or a weekday evening.

OR - if anyone's interested in a group swap at a public bar (or even a public bath) or something, hey, why not make a post on this thread to express interest and let's get it set up!!!!

Cheers
