I thought this was pretty funny, but the girl got the last laugh. She ended up winning the lawsuit and got herself a new car.

That's funny. Good on her though. They thought it to be funny (and I agree) as an April Fool's joke, but they shouldn't have led an employee on like that and have all of them try so hard to up their sales only to disappoint the winner. Funny as it was.

Looks like the jokes on Hooters. Pretty funnny though. Toy Yoda. Even brought her out to a parking lot blindfolded. Ha!

I remember this from several years ago, and at the time I thought, "During this whole contest, didn't anyone think to ask, 'Toyota what? Corolla? Celica? Camry?'" How often do you see a car as a prize where they don't tell you the model? Never. Sure, someone could have asked, and they said it was secret. But then they would just say, "A car" not "A Toyota." Isn't that a better secret? In hindsight it's easy to see how fishy it was, but I still think I would have been somewhat suspicious of the whole thing.

If the contest rules were written out, and it said the prize was a "Toyota," then I guess she had a gripe. But if it was all verbal (which I suspect it might have been. Which would make it even more suspicious), then she got what they told her the prize was. Even if it was a mean joke.

On the other hand, maybe they just said, "Whoever sells the most beer this month wins a great prize." And they didn't say what the prize was until they announced the winner:

"And the winner is Jodee! Jodee, you won a new toy Yoda!"

"AAAHHHHH!!!! Oh my God!! A Toyota?!? I can't believe it!"

"Here, put this blindfold on . . . "

Not much time, and too much excitment, to be suspicious and ask questions then.
