don't know exactly about Effexor, but many people here take generic Prozac, so if worse came to worse you could switch over.

That's madness. They're both seratonin re-uptake inhibitors but Effexor is notorious for its withdrawal symptoms and just because you tolerate one anti-depressant well doesn't mean you'll have the same reaction to another.

If you can get a doctor to prescribe it, it's available at pharmacies. You can visit the International Clinic in Itaewon if you don't want any hassles and they can dispense it on the spot so you don't have to spill your secret at the neighbourhood pharmacy. I can't guarantee this is the cheapest method, but it's reliable.

You should never just switch between brands of medication without consulting your psych first. Effexor and Przac can have completely different results and are sometimes used to treat different disorders. I'm sure you've done your own research about that. You can defintely get Effexor in Korea, though you may need to go to a pharmacy near a medical center that has a psychiatry department or visit the actual psych clinic's pharmacy. The international clinic in itaewon has psychiatric services.

oops, I didn't mean make the switch overnight or anything like that of course. Most Korean doctors at least have a list of meds they could substitute, but of course be careful with any switch as most people could tell you.

Best of luck OP.
