I am curious what percentage of universities will allow thier teachers to work in a camp that is seperate from the universities own programs during vacation.
The university I work for does not allow thier teachers to work in camps seperate for the university. The reason they give is that they, too, have optional vacation programs for thier teachers to work in. However, there is only enough work to employ about 20% of us in thier camps.
I'm not really complaining. I enjoy having so much free time, but perhaps I could better use that time to make a little more income. |

If they are organized or go through the university yes. If not, no. I could technically work at another place because of my visa status if it weren't in my contract that it is cause for termination.
My advice is if it's unclear ask, but don't risk your job if they have told you no. |
