You know, it is pretty amusing what with all the talk of criminal checks, medical, etc. Korea must think that their country is a pretty desirable place to work if they want people to jump through hoops for an industry rife with corruption. I mean, if it were a place like Italy or Spain, I could understand having strict requirements. But this is Korea...the armpit of the ESL world. I can hear people beating down the door thinking, yeah I`ll get my criminal check, now my medical, did the consulate thing, got my transcripts, got my degree notarized...all on my own dime. Then throw in the high potential screwing with your pay factor(no pay, no pension, no insurance, etc) and people are just going to fall for it and supply Korea with an even higher caliber of teacher. Korea is a very deluded place and Koreans are a misguided bunch. |

Dude...get over it. You said you're leaving in another thread. No need to throw a hissy fit while you're on the way out the door.
We get it. Korea bad, you hate it. Italy good. You like. |

Well said....
You know after a point the bashing and whining starts to sound like its more about the person complaining (ie has issues) than about the subject of his complaints.
Go to Italy man...find somesort of happiness there and leave the rest behind. I do suspect however that within 6 months you will be bashing Italy on the first Italy ESL board you will find....cheers and all the best. |

If you stay long enough, you're also going to find problems in other countries like Italy, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Japan.
It all comes down to one's personality and how flexible they can be in the face of chaos, unfamiliarity, changes / new situations, etc.
Step off if you don't like the problems in Korea.
Try someplace where the problems there don't get you so wound up. |
