I've contacted a recruiter to find a better job for me, one with more vacation time.

Anybody who has closely followed my tedious posts will know my Principal recently agreed to renew my current contract, but not before the new visa regulations come into existence and he also refused my extra vacation time request.

My recruiter has said they cannot put my requests for extra vacation to a new school unless the new school can contact my current place of employment.

So, what should I do? Tell my school I have changed my mind about renewal before the new school contacts them, or leave looking for a new job, because there is no guarantee the new school will grant my requests, and when they contact my school, this may cause my school to refuse to renew my contract, and all of this bother would have been for the sake of me finding an identical job without extra benefits. Back to square one.

Useful comments please posters.

You have to go to your principal and say you are going to look for another job unless they can give you extra vacation and get you a contract signed immediately. You have no signatures yet, right? Therefore negotiation is still open.

They are just fucking with you. If they really can't give you a few extra days and get your contract straightened away, they are really not worth your time, so you might as well move on. They will probably ask you to write your own reference anyway, so don't worry about that.
