If you were around last year you might have come to one of our DJ parties. Beer will be cheap before midnight and there will be two drink specials later in the evening. This year I have two Korean co-DJs who know their genres so it should be interesting.

God, that looks good! This is the sort of thing I was NOT getting in Busan. BTW, do you play records or just use a computer/ipod? I'm asking because I have piles of vintage ska/rocksteady/soulful reggae/dub stuff in my itunes and could seriously rock the house if called upon to. Big tings g'wan happen!

I use whatever I can. A bunch of my stuff is on vinyl but I'm not sure if we'll have a record player this time. I can hear the difference in mp3s, even from CDs, but they're convenient.

Will there be dub, or just ska, soul, and reggae?

You really can't dance to dub.

I am planning to play some of the more upbeat dub musicians such as Mikey Dread and Dillinger, but anything too slow and people will lose interest.

Dubstep is the bestest thing from Blighty right now. check out Burials self titled album. Although its not really that typical of the sound.

How much dancehall? I'm talkin' T.O.K, Sizzla, Elephant, Spragga, etc.. etc... Please tell me it's a dancehall event - I've been waiting to bust out my booty shorts, weave and acrylics (no, I'm not joking).
