I got my ARC card, a bank account, and soon I will get paid for my first month. So, I thought this would be a good time to ask about things I should be aware of. This includes things like average medical insurance deductions, tax deductions, etc...
I know most of this was dealt with in the contract, and I have the figures in mind. However, I just wanted to make sure there haven't been any important changes.
Also, yesterday, the school director mentioned to me that he had to go to the "Education department" to register me as a teacher.
This was new to me, since none of this was mentioned in the contract. What is involved with this, what forms or applications should I be aware of? Should I request anything now for my records regarding this?
Or, is this just one of those things the Korean schools have to do, and it's not worth my time worrying about? |

I presume you are working in a public school. If so, the director is quite right in having to register you at the Education Dept. It's nothing to worry about at all, they fill out the forms and may ask you one or two questions that aren't covered from the information you already gave them.

That's about right. Boss has to register you with the Ministry/Board of Education. A legal formality. |
