The paper, written by Song Jae-hun, a doctor at Seoul's Samsung Medical Center, said pneumonia-causing bacteria's resistance rate to penicillin stood at 71 percent in Vietnam, 55 percent in South Korea, 43 percent in Hong Kong and 39 percent in Taiwan.

Hmmm....Korea is not first in something. Obviously they will have to try harder. Doctors, overprescribe more antibiotics. Razz

I'm bumping this because I'm concerned about getting antibiotics for four days. I keep getting the same cold, it starts with a sore throat, moves to sinus pressure and congestion, then changes into lots of nose blowing. Usually around the second stage I go to the doctor, get my packet of mystery pills, and I'm usually feeling fine by then time I finish taking them. This time however, I'm getting sick for the third time in as many weeks. I'm I developing super-bacteria? I've only been here 8 months!

I think most people here go through the same problems.

First Year: Often ill.
Second Year: Sometimes ill.
Third Year: Seldom ill........

It takes time for your body to adapt to different bactaria.

But if you continue to feel terrible and think you are carrying a super strain of bactaria........Stay the hell away from me!
