I'm teaching a class of adults this afternoon and they asked me to teach them, "The End of the World" by Skeeter Davis. I've never really taught pop songs before, any advice? They're at a pretty low level too. Thanks! |

Do a Cloze activity with the song. Get the lyrics and delete some. Suggestions (depending on the level of your students): delete the prepositions; delete one of each pair of rhymes but indicate (underline) the matching rhyme so they know what they are listening for.
Another approach: cut the lines of the song apart for each pair of students and let them arrange the lines back in order as they listen. |
