I think there was a thread earlier about people with good jobs, but what about in Seoul specifically?

It seems there are numerous "good" jobs with higher pay and benefits in areas such as Gangwon-do, Daejon, Daegu, etc. but most jobs in Seoul just seem to be pretty basic....

I have one.

Non-profit place (ie, not a hagwon or a public school).

I have to be in the office about 8 hours a day, but the times I come in are pretty flexible. I teach three 40min classes a day M-F, and twice a week I teach another two 30 min classes (Tuesdays and Fridays).

I get 2.6 a month plus all the usual (airfare, housing, etc), and everything is legal.

More importantly, the people I work with are super nice.

Seoul public school jobs are good if you get a good school, but since they place you, it's a random chance that your school is good. Yet the school has to stick to your contract, that's good. The hours are long, 40 hours a week, but you teach 22 or less. Anything more is overtime pay or not required.

There are some great hogwans in Seoul, but you have to find them. Most people want to live in Seoul so it is competitive. Get in with a good hogwan in an affluent area and you can make some better money.
