So I read in the Korea Herald today that all new teachers looking for a work visa will have to undergo a criminal record check and a medical (INCLUDING A DRUG TEST)
Now here's my beef.... I'm talking about marijuana here....
I haven't smoked in quite some time, maybe 3 or 4 years, and certainly not in Korea. However, when I go home in March for the summer I'm sure i will be somewhere when aother person, maybe even myself, has a puff....BIG DEAL???
So is this going to jeopardize me coming back in September? If this new anti-drug policy created by the government is real, then a lot of people are not going to be allowed to come and teach here....
What's the deal? Personally, I don't think that someone who smokes (maybe they don't but are around a peer who does and could test positive) makes them a bad teacher...I know several professionlas (teachers, business owners, bankers) who smoke on a regular basis..
Anyways, so is this true? Is anyone else a little concerned?
I think they should do a brain scan to see who prefers little Thai kids for pleasure before they look at the tokers....is this all stemming from them dudes who got busted in Kangnam??
What's going on????????????????? |

I hear you. When you go home before taking a new contract you might go puff puff the magic dragon and end up positive about 2 weeks later after arriving in Korea with nothing to smoke nor the intent to smoke in Korea. |

it is a pee test. if you really want to smoke at home just learn how to fake a test.
the internet provides all the tools.
it won't be blood and hair test because those are too expensive and time consuming. |

Cannabis - detection times
Quote: |
Cannabis and its active ingredient THC is tested for in most drug tests. After one-off or occasional use its break-down products or metabolites can be detected between 3-5 days after use.
However, THC can be detected in a chronic user up to 12 weeks after use although the average is 25 -27 days
