http://www.zorb.com/zorb.php

A buddy of mine emailed me about this site. He was excited that they have a place in the US to do this and he sent me the link. I looked at the Zorb site and noticed that there was a caption/picture from Korea. The site also says Zorb was created in New Zealand.

I'm wanted to know if anyone has tried this and if so, what your experience was like. Where in Korea is this located? What was the cost and ride time? It looks fun but I'm worried about the safety concerns and cost.

Thanks.

Hey

I have tried the Zorb in both NZ and Australia. I recently became friends with the CEO of Zorb Australia who I met traveling in Vietnam.

The safety record is rock solid but the cost is immense. The franchise alone costs seven figures and the balls are around 2-300 thousand each and last 6-9 months.

Riding them is really pretty tame IMHO compared to say downhill MTB, or even a decent water slide. Rides last between 30-60 seconds and the cost to ride one works out at about $1 AUD per second.

It's a gig, offering low level thrills, marketed at nervous customers - thats why it's aligned more with the tourism industry than the adventure sports industry.

Need anymore info, and I'll be happy to email my friend in Aus.

Hydro-zorbing is pretty cool for a one-minute adrenaline rush.

Not hydro-zorbng. The water inside the inner ball makes the walls slippery enough it's like riding a waterslide.
