I recently used my debit card and when I checked to make sure I didn't lose more than the exchange rate, I saw a small adjustment fee.

Does this fee increase when purchasing more, or is it a flat adjustment fee regardless how much you take out (making larger purchases more worth it since you would only be charged once)?

It depends on your bank. Some charge for international purchases. Some don't. I suggest you contact your bank to find out.
