Use a travel agent. 4 or 5 day service - application to receipt. |

| yeah, we used a travel agent, cost a bit more - 65 000 each, but it was quick, and its probably safer than you sending your passport off in the mail. |

| hmm...i used xanada and the cost was 90,000 won. 60,000 or so for the chinese visa and their fee of 30,000....sounds like they are overcharging quite a bit for the shipping - or is it a rush order? |

Where are you going in China.
If you are close to Busan you can go to the Chinese consulate. |

kangsantravel.com also does it. http://kangsantravel.com/visas.php
The visa fees went up earlier this fall, so get ready to shell out the cash... |

Ya, visa fees for US citizens is now $100 (up from $64) + handling fees.
$120 is not bad - 20k won for handling and 2-way delivery fees. |

| Will a travel agent do the China visa for you if you didn't buy your ticket from them? |

I'm pretty far from Seoul, and can't get to Busan during business hours. Will any of the many travel agents around Suncheon handle a China visa? Just curious, because I may not go through Kangsan for my plane tickets. Thanks.
edit: Any special Korean phrases I should know when trying to get a visa from a travel agent? For example, "I would like to apply for a visa to China"? |

| Visa is konglish. China is Choong-gook. That should do it. They'll figure it out if you are biuying plane tickets from them. Kangsan will still do it for you even if you don't buy tickets from them. Personally, I wouldn't want important stuff like visas handles only in Korean. Too easy to make a mistake. |
