If you have contact information for English speaking realestate agents, please share them with me.
I'm going to be attending Yonsei University in January and would like a cheap studio/one bedroom apartment around Shinchon, Haebongchon or thereabouts.

just go to the area you want to live in and walk into a realestate agent. if they don't speak english, go to the place next door. |

just go to the area you want to live in and walk into a realestate agent. if they don't speak english, go to the place next door. |
Which will be a lot of walking and going next door. Good luck.
I recommend befriending, even paying, a bilingual to help you. You can walk/bike around getting numbers from the budongsans and having the Korean speaker call from their home.
A huge problem is that most budongsans and owners don't want to rent to foreigners as they are too prone to skip town. Haebongchon and Itaewon will be an exception to this, but even in areas near unis they are skeptical of foreigners. |

yes, my method may only work well for itaewon and surrounding areas.
a bilingual friend would be a great help.
I just found that calling or e-mailing was a waste of time.
I only got positive results when i actually went to the agent and had him/her show me a few places.
some renters will not rent to foreigners...that is reality. |
