|
|
I purchased a 60gb Japanese PS3, which works perfectly, however I am now thinking I should have purchased one of the 40gb Korean PS3s because I play a lot of Standard-DVDs and no PS2 games. The region coding for Standard DVDs is Japan -- not Korea, therefore they won't work.
Unlike the 40gb PS3 now selling around 400,000, my PS3 will play PS2 games from the Asia region, which I am told includes Japan and Korea. Mine has the internal emotion chip (not software-based) for playing PS2 titles.
Anyone interested in making an offer? If it's not a good offer, I'll just keep it. |

How much?
There was a lad on here a month or so ago trying to sell his US PS3 with the same PS2 capabilities for the nearly new price simply because it played PS2games.
So what are you looking for on it? Realistically. Are you including the step down convertor as well?
How many controllers? |

I'd throw in a few games if the price was right. A guy in Yongsan (and I'm sure several others) would buy them off of me outright, so I'll probably go that route with the games, unless you wanted to pay me 20,000 to 30,000 per game for the ones you wanted. I'll have to check the going used prices at Yongsan. These are full legal versions with all boxes and materials -- no torrents.
As for the machine... hmm... if I didn't get at least 400,000 out of it, I'd probably just keep it. I'd throw in a game or two at that price. Comes with one controller and the box/materials. It's had light use overall. I'd have to check with Sony about resetting the unit and clearing off my PS3 ID from it, etc... but I know it's not a big deal.
As for the power converter, I don't think you actually need one. I've read on several boards that you can just switch the cord out and it'll work, because that version of the PS3 comes with internals that handle either 110v or 220v. The thing is, it doesn't say that on the box, and I'm not about to try it blindly. So I've just been pluggin it into a converter that I also use for my 110v sound system. If you buy it, and you blow it up from using 220v instead of 110v and it doesn't work, DON'T BLAME ME!
A word of warning -- don't attempt to use a tiny fist-sized stepdown power converter for this unit. Use one of the regular-sized ones that's about half the size of a shoebox. My lady had one of those smaller ones to recharge a small PDA, and we fried it. The PS3 sucks as much power as a computer.
The PS3 store has lots of free demos on it, so you'll have plenty to do for a while. |
