Cutting your toenails at night attracts snakes.

Obviously, a very old superstition.

My really crazy Korean coteacher told me that food poisoning causes chicken pox. She swore up and down that it was not a language mistake. She read lots of Chinese medicine books and she was right because her friend got food poisoning from chewing gum and got chicken pox from the food poisoning.

Swear. To. God. Could not make that shit up.

Korea's been a democracy since 1945.

Korea has 5000 years of uninterrupted common history.

Korea is surrounded by the West Sea and the East Sea.

There are no Gays in Korea (except the waygookin).

The economic miracle of the 60's, 70's and 80's was solely based on the hard work of the Korean people (not preferential access to the Western markets).

One of the foreigners at my school is married to a Korean. It came up when we had a discussion about fan death one day. He said his wife told him this superstition.
