Perhaps it would have been better to word this this way:
Would you rather:
a) listen to the French whine that they amounted to something in the 18th Century and still contributed some good painters in the 19th?
OR
b) listen to the British whine that they amounted to something in the 19th Century and only managed to contribute mini-skirts in the 20th? |
