In other words, what country would you make the most money in teaching privates? If teaching privates were legal in Korea (on the E-2 visa) I'm sure Korea would win hands down. But without an F visa your income here is harshly capped and if you are anything like me, that also stifles your interest in learning the language.

So what other countries that "allow" privates would be lucrative to someone willing to learn the language? Japan, Thailand, or China? I think Japan is the best bet, anyone agree? I've heard that while the market in Thailand is definitely less lucrative, that if actually learn a bit of Thai several doors open outside of TEFL. China also offers other opportunities too doesn't it?

I make between $2000 and $2500 a month in Chile and I only teach 22 hours a week or so.....this isnt crazy money, but good for South America....that being said I have long breaks between my classes (so if you wanted to work 40 hours a week here you could make good money....and you could charge more than I do...I charge $30 per hour for group classes but you could get 40 or more without too much effort if you dont mind the sales process.....and this is all legal here, you get a Visa Temporaria which costs 500 bucks but allows you to work as a private contractor and your business clients actually pay your taxes....that being said were coming back to Korea.
