What's going on ya "let's go"book toting ESL guys. I'm just curious about what gaming consoles (i.e. Nintendo wii, XBox etc) and how many do you have with you in Korea.

I've got an Xbox 360 with a lotta games, hardly touch it since I'm still playing my PC games a lot. I've got a Nintendo DS for those long train rides too.

I'm curious about the Wii, but chances are I'd play it so little that it's not worthwhile to get. I'll pass on the PS3 ain't seen much I really wanna play on it yet.

after being on a gaming hiatus for a couple of years i recently got a modded xbox. sort of catching up on a lot of xbox games i never got to play (especially ninja gaiden black). once i get tired of those, i think i'll go for a wii. but i'll keep the xbox...it's fun playing the older, simpler arcade, nes, snes, and genesis games with my gf (she can't keep up on the 3d stuff).

I guess I'll chime in:

(1) Nintendo Wii (1) Playstation 3--60GB version (1) Xbox 360 Elite version
(2) Nintendo gamecubes (2) Xboxes (2) Playstation 2 systems--1 is the older model and 1 is a slim model (1) Sega Dreamcast
(2) Nintendo 64 systems--1 is a standard and 1 is a rare pikachu edition.
(4) Playstation One systems. 1 is a mini PS1 and the other three are the older versions.
(1) Turbo Grafx-16 (1) Super Nintendo (1) Sega Genesis
(1) Nintendo (1) Atari 7800 (1) Atari 2600

For handhelds I got (1) Nintendo DS lite version and (2) Sony PSP's--one is the older version and the other is the new silver lighter version. (1) Gameboy Advance.

Granted...getting all this stuff plus my game collection to Korea was a real pain in the ballsack.

Why? Why have all that stuff and duplicates of some systems?

A chipped-PS2 with about 100+ games. I don't paly it often though, but when I do it's usually a marathon weekend session to start and finish a new game I picked up. Then it's put away till for another couple months.

I suppose the same reason why some guys got wine cellars or others have car collections. I have been an avid gamer/collector for a long time. The duplicates are for those game systems in which I have many games for and they don't make anymore (i.e. PS1 and Nintendo 64) If one is down I got a backup.

I've been toying with the idea of modding some of my game systems just for the sake of space..but the collector in me needs to have all original games and artwork. But, I do keep a pretty decent emulator/rom collection on the PC.

What you do is get all the amazing/hard to find games (Disgaea, Killer 7, whatever) for realz, and all the stupid, mindless games (Tony Hawk, Madden, etc.) on the hardrive. Really, who needs hard copies of games that are replaced every year?

I'd never mod again. Not worth it.

Exactly...for that reason I never buy any sports games or EA franchises (madden, Medal of honor, NBA etc) because they hold basically no real value and after 1 year you can pick them up for like 8 bucks. I have a lot of rare RPG's for the playstation and PS2 that are worth some serious money. Those are the games that I make it a point to collect.

Yeah I've never been a big fan of modding systems...just seems cheap to me and you lose out on a lot of the benefits of the game. The only mods I've done are just cosmetic (faceplates etc).

I've got a PSP I never use and a modchipped PS2 and the modchip was definitely worth every cent.

There's nothing quite like drunken street fighter with my bud. We're both pretty damn good.

I just purchased a Nintendo Wii a few days ago in preparation for my move to Korea. I'm eventually coming back to the states in 1 or 2 years, so I figured I should get it from here so I can continue using it over the long run instead of being caught with a Korean system when I come back.

And let me tell you, Super Mario Galaxy is really, really good.
