I brought my hand held gaming devices from the US and when I tried to recharge them, they wouldn't recharge! The DS does nothing, but the GB Advance charge light comes on for about a second and then goes out. Is this an electric wattage problem? I use a converter of course, but I can't charge either one. Any advice? My PSP and other electronic devices charge just fine with the converter attached. |

What does the tag / label printed on the charger say?
By converter, do you mean voltage transformer (240VAC to 110 VAC) or just a plug converter (US to Korean)? |

The charger just says "AC Adapter NTR-002 (JPN/USA) Input : AC100V Output: DC5.2V". The converter is just a plug converter, but I thought it converted the wattage. |

You have burned out the chargers. They are rated for 120volts and you stuck them into a 240VAC socket. They are dead.
Pick up new ones on your next trip through Yongsan or technomart or pay a little more and get a "universal AC adapter" at your local hardware shop or E-mart. BE careful and make sure the OUTPUT is DC5.25v.
The ones that are still working probably have labels that read:
input AC110-240v.
I am sorry you didn't catch it before they burned. You will also need to get new ones when you go home again because the ones you get here will be rated for the local voltage (240VAC) and won't work on the 110v back home in the states.;

Always amazes me how unclued up people can be about the little things they need to know before travelling to another country. |
