|
|
I send $800 - $1000 home every month. Recently, the people at the bank have noticed that I'm getting close to $10,000 and have warned me about it. One said I'd need to bring in a paystub if I wanted to send more than that, and another said I just couldn't do it unless I left the country for 6 months and come back. Which one is correct?
Neither of the tellers spoke English, and our conversation was in a mix of broken English and Korean, so I may have misunderstood. Does the KB in Itaewon have English speakers, so that I can be sure of what I'm being told? |

Don't listen to the guy who said you'd have to leave for six months.
Here's an idea. Hopefully someone on this site can point you to the letter of the law regarding the issue of sending money outside the country. In Korean, of course. Print that out and take it with you to the bank next time you go. |

Yeah, I thought it sounded like BS. If anyone does have a link to the law, it'd be very helpful. |
