|
|
I am getting my M.A. in English literature in the next few months and I want to to teach 18th, 19th and 20th Century English and comparative literature at the university level. I can also teach music and digital recording arts. I have college teaching experience and I am wondering if anyone has any idea what particular colleges and universities I can approach. P.M. me if you have any ideas or you want to see my resume.
Thanks. |

Trevor, it's just not gonna happen. You'd need a Ph.D to even come close to that, and even then you'd have to lecture in Korean just to get through to the students. But good luck anyway. |

Thanks, Desiree
You are misinformed. I Already have one possibility I am considering without too much looking. Colleges have curriculums that they need to fill. At this point I am weighing my options and wondering if there is anything near Seoul...
Anybody else with useful info -- I'd appreciate it.

Yeah it is possible.
Some universities are looking for someone just like you... although you'd need your M.A. right now probably. Just find the sites on the Korean Job Board.
There are many English Literature departments and if they are looking for native speakers, they'd be looking for someone like you with your future M.A.. I'm not sure what you mean by some college experience... because you'd probably need more than a couple of months.

You posted this in a Korean Board? I don't know a thing about English Lit., I took Asian Lit., but I do know about music. I wonder what you consider teaching music is. |

Digital recording arts is possible -- for instance if you can teach multimedia software for recording as well as sound to film.
Also, if you have strong Jazz or classical background there is work, though a degree in the field is highly desirable.
