Name some good ones. Anything but horror or really really slow-paced ones. |

So far everything I've seen directed by Kim Ki Duk. ("3-iron", "spring, summer, fall, winter, spring") was great.
My favorite Korean movie is: "Save the Green Planet" (지구를 지켜라). Definitely the best thing to come out of Korea, probably ever. Maybe even my favorite movie. |

Chingu (Friend) is worth a look.
Chil-hwaeson-about an eccentic painter that won at Cannes.
Chunhyang---a costume drama but good movie.
My Girlfriend is Gangster --a comedy,
Ther's 4 I liked and I usually can't sit through Korean flicks. I'd mention Host but it always starts a big fight here. |

Funny, I have yet to meet a Korean who likes that film, but I keep asking since my boss worked on it (to make sure he and the others were up to the task, the director made them all go to a PC bang and play Starcraft for over 24 hours straight).
Memory of Murder - based on a real-life murder mystery that happened in Suwon
Older Brother - about a poor family where one brother becomes a gangster and the other a doctor |

타짜 (Ta-jja) translated into "The High Rollers" was an awesome gambling flick. Plus it features great side-boob, partial frontal and full rear views of Kim Hye-su.
Her rack should be a Korean national treasure. |

You're right both about the film (pretty good) and Hye-su ( )
"용 서 받 지 못 한 자" (The Unforgiven) is an excellent film. It is one of those rare Korean movies that does not lapse into sentimentalism at some point; the story is uniquely Korean, too. Wonderful film, fine acting. |

'Old Boy' is fab, twisted and sick and wonderful.
'Memories of Murder' is a stunning effort.
Kim Ki Duk's 'Spring, summer...' and '3 Iron' or 'Empty House' in Korean are gorgeous.
The 'sympathy for' trilogy is funny and worth watching.
'Blood Rain' is good.
'Silmido' is a decent solid effort.
I've heard that the 'My wife is a gangster' series are good, but haven't seen any myself...
'Taekgukki' was a ridiculous overblown, melodramatic, unbsubtle waste of time. |

Lady Vengeance has to be one of my favorite movies. Amazing movie. If only I could convince my friends likewise!
After reading Troll_Bait's previous posts, I definitely want to watch My Heart; however, I've exhausted Netflix's Korean vault. Any recommendations for Korea movie rental parlors in the San Diego area? |

The director who made "My Heart" ("정"), Bae Chang-ho, has also made a movie called "The Road" ("길"), which is also an amazing must-see. |

Kinda wish someone would have told me Oldboy was twisted. Might not have watched it. I enjoyed the first part immensely though. Loved the humor and style of presentation at the start. |
