So, this is my first notebook computer, coupled with my first handycam, and after tearing my hair out for a month trying to figure out how to 'capture' footage, edit it (not using .wmm cos my version of the hallowed Vista isn't upgrade enough), and as of this week finally actually upload it, I now find that using the wireless network at school I can upload a couple of videos to YouTube in a few minutes, but down town, even with a strong signal, it would take at least half an hour for a small clip, or it wont even connect at all.

Please excuse my ignorance if this is a silly question, but, is bandwidth an issue, or what is it? Is it YouTube that's so changeable, or are different connection points set up differently so as to disallow uploads?

Its most likely the internet that you are connected to via wireless. If it's your router (or if you happen to know the password) you can probably give priority to your MAC address, which may help.
