| Does anyone know of any decent on-line programs in Applied Linguistics? Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

University of New England in Armidale, NSW Australia.
They have a great Masters program you can do by correspondence.

I second the above recommendation. I did my MA in Applied Linguistics through UNE and have no complaints. On the contrary, it was a great experience. Assignments marked promptly, with lots of helpful feedback. Plenty of discussion board discussions with other students...etc. Really good program.
I'm currently continuing my studies at Macquarie University. They also offer a good program in applied linguistics, though I preferred UNE; it was much more personal and the professors were more involved on a day-to-day basis.
All the best. |

When all was said and done, what was the cost of the program? |

After all was said and done, paper-in-hand, I paid 12 million for the MA. I didn't have to pay anything for the books, because I had them all - ordered them from the library, and then had them photocopied and bound.
At Macquarie tuition includes textbooks. At the beginning of each semester they're sent out with the enrolment package. |

| Another good school is the University of Southern Queensland. I got an M.A. in Applied Linguistics through that school a few years ago. A good program with a thesis track (for those going on to a Ph.D.) and a coursework track. I'd really have to dig back for prices but it was not a burden financially. It was a lot of reading and writing, as it should be, and it was well organised and coherent. The profs were by and large quite helpful and responded to emails quickly. |
