I am working on a webcast with some students. We recorded it on the school computer using audacity and it worked just fine. I then took a usb drive and moved the files to my computer at home to do the editing. I�m opening up these files to play them and I�m getting no sound. The really weird part is that the bar is showing sound, I�m just not hearing it. I played a couple of songs to check my speakers, and that�s working. However, I tried importing songs from the computer, and those were the same: I could see the sound but I couldn't hear it. That makes me think it's something witht the setup of audacity rather than the files. So what would cause me to see the sound on a file, hear it on a different computer, but not hear it on this one even though my speakers are hooked up?

try using vlc media player, this will solve 99% of your codec issues.

I can play the sound through winamp. I just can't hear anything within the program audacity.
