|
|
Hi
I am supposed to join a new job in Suwon on Jan 1st. The HR is asking me
to come to Korea on 22nd since the Medical Checkup Results take upto
3-5 working days.
I want to arrive in Korea around 26th or 27th morning. Is this a problem ???
How significant is this medical check-up. Can one not start working unless
the results are in.
Is it mandatory to do this medical check-up in Korea. I am currently in Singapore
and I was thinking if I should suggest to the HR that I can do my check-up in
Singapore.
Thanks

This is a question you should be asking your boss. The rule requiring a med. check is new and most of us who have been here for years don't even know the skinny.
Edit. Having read the rest of your post, you need to know that the medical HAS to be done by a government approved hospital or clinic, so ... yes, you have to be in Korea to get the check up done. |

I believe that you need to do the checkup in Korea. My recruiter told me this and since part of the checkup is an HIV test, and these tests are only admissible if done in Korea, I would imagine that it has to be done there. |

The new law starting next week -
The test has to be done at an "approved Korean hospital"....
They will test for TB, diabetes, STD's, HIV and Drugs....
WELCOME TO KOREA.....
P.S. - the last time I had it done - the "helping nurse" thought his English was great... he gave me that little "thingy" and told me - "you need to go in the bathroom and stick this up your as5hole... then bring it back".... |
