Regarding the two documents added;

1) Criminal record: We don't need your fingerprint. Please just get your criminal record affixed with Apostille.

2) Health Statement: Please fill in the form with your handwriting which I am sending you by email and sign on it.

I would like you to send those documents by express mail to apply for your visa because we don't have enough time.

So the health check appears to be a simple statement of health signed by myself . . . GOOD NEWS!

HOWEVER . . . criminal check needs an apostille affixed to it . . . can anyone explain this and perhaps give me some insight as to how I would do it in the UK?

I don't know, but it sounds like someone is trying to cut corners.

New regulations are pending as far as I know. You don't need to do all of this if you're applying now. Maybe a good idea to have it ready just in case you're asked for them while you're working though.

Please can someone expand on this? My contract doesn't start until the 2nd of January. They already have my degree and transcripts.

Went to the consular outreach in Busan this past Saturday. representatives from immigration were there... said that the regs go into effect Dec 15th. So if your recruiter is on the ball & gets your stuff to immigration before Dec 14th, you'll come under the old rules. Which he/she should be doing anyway since you're supposed to start Jan2. Could be that the school just wants you to have it so they can re-assure all the mommys...

Also, immigration was saying that when it comes time to renew, change, or apply for a new visa, you will have to turn in a new medical check no older than 3 months (easy to get here for under 50$) and a NEW criminal check no older than 6 months. So once you get here, you should wait about two months then apply for the FBI check, wait 6-7 months and you would have it in time for the next round of red tape chaos.

Welcome to our world~

did they tell you whether Korean checks would be okay the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., time around instead of from our home countries?

^ Do you not know that we are all international criminals running out empires from our school computers here in Korea.

We might be on the most wanted list by the next academic year.
