For Public School positions, is severance one month's pay and you get your National Pension refund? Or is it just the National Pension Refund. A little confused about that.

You get both.

Severance is paid by the school and is usually included in your last pay.

Pension is administered by the Nationa Pension Service and you have to APPLY in person for your refund. It should be applied for in your last month and will usually be paid into your home bank account about 3 months AFTER you leave Korea.

More info on their website ( http://www.nps.go.kr ) - click the English link.

Thanks.

That clears it up. Sometimes I've heard the two used almost interchangeably. It's like discovering "free" money. Very Happy Shocked
