I watched a documentary some time ago about a train trip that starts in China and travels through Mongolia, Siberia, Russia and can end in Europe. Has anyone heard of this trip? Looked like a great vacation. I would like to find more information if anyone has it. Thanks

I'm not lazy,, I tried the search with no results.

I think you are pretty lazy. Its called the "Trans-Siberia". I have concerns about you taking the trip and being confused by signs in different languages.

The easiest, least stressful way of organising a Trans Siberian trip is to book through www.monkeyshrine.com. They are very helpful and well organised, although it is not the cheapest.

Having done the trip a few times, the downside is that well over 80% of the people on the international China-Russia trains are ethnically Chinese, so you won't get much of "Russian" experience so to speak.

I soviet_man was once trapped in a compartment for 7 days with 3 Chinese brothers Confused ... to say it was uncomfortable would be an understatement.

But the domestic Russian trains are almost entirely filled with Russian passengers (and are much cheaper as well).

I took the train straight to Moscow in September and it was amazing. I had two Russian ladies in my room when it first started. One of the girls bumped uglies with a Mongolian only 2 feet from me the entire first night.

Met tons of people and had a great time. Didn't use Monkeyshrine. I got loads of info of of Seat61.com and bought my own tickets and got my own visas.
