hi
this is my first post...i have been offered a job teaching in suncheon. i was hoping someone might have some insight into hagwons there...more specifically the one where i will be teaching. if you have some words of wisdom i would be grateful to hear them. |

Hagwons vary greatly from owner to owner. Hugely. You may want to, y'know, consider at least giving us the name of your potential employer.
Suncheon itself is a decent city. Lots of foreigners there. Also, there's HomePlus and they have beef. |

you're right...hard to give info without any information. the hagwon is called the top junior english school. a friend who's been teaching in korea for four years told me i should ask them to speak to another foreign teacher, so i did. the email i received was vague though, and written in poor english...has me a little concerned. i am teaching in mexico now and want to be as sure as i can about my transition.

get a phone number... spend the money on a phone call... chances are a native speaker didn't write that email.... and if they didn't and you can't talk to one (who is not at work at the time) it's a big red flag.... |
