What's the funniest tourism ad/slogan you've seen, whether on tv or other.
Korea: 'Korea - Spockeling! (sparkling)'
Abroad: Malaysia... Truly Asia
Runner up: Everybody needs some Maldives in their life.

The Danish creature feature "Reptilicus" has a wonderful tour of Copehagen right in the middle of it. The head scientist and chief bimbo take a break from battling the monster and enjoy a scenic tour of downtown Copenhagen by bicycle. The original also featured a comic music number, but this was inexplicably cut.

"It's Never Dull in Hull!"

This was the touchingly ambitious and hopelessly deluded slogan dreamed up by the city council of the economically punch-drunk northern English city back in the 80's. It was printed on t-shirts, mugs, pencils and badges, all of which gained ironic kitsch value before the ink was even dry.

Last I heard, Hull was trying to raise its stock by twinning with Pyongyang.

Well, it is accurate, although maybe not in way they intended. Last time I was in that cesspool (admittedly, quite a long time ago...20 years??) I was coming out of a bar with my rowing crew at 3am pretty liquored up and I remember the sound of gunshots nearby. "What's that? Our race is at 8am? Oh look how late it is! Let's go." *vrooooom* (four pseudo-Flash wannabes burning sole treads for Ottawa ASAFP)

I'm talking about KINGSTON-UPON-Hull. Please don't appropriate the slogan for a Canadian 'city'.

We don't want it (the "city") either. The Quebecois are welcome to it.

(Note the spelling of the word 'coarse' at the beginning.)
