I've tried sending a few e-mails from my yahoo account to a friend's hanmail account, and they've all come back undelivered. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm wondering if they're in one of their little snits like they were a few years ago, and blocking e-mails from other servers. |

Hope I do not get booted from Dave's for typing the following: Censorship is normal in this country and Hanmail.com and Yahoo.com and Hotmail.com are not down with each other, eh.

Are you saying that Hanmail IS blocking yahoo and hotmail, or are you just saying that it's possible? If the latter, I agree, it's certainly possible, given what happened a few years back. But I'm wondering if you, or anyone else, has any specific info.
Thanks for the reply, either way. |

I have been experiencing non-delivered hotmail e-mails to hanmail for the past 6 months. My hotmail messages are 100% successful otherwise.
Is it possible IE6 has some effect on this? Hmmm... |

I've never been able to send an email to a hanmail account. Friends with other foreign servers say the same.
Why do they block foreign email servers? |

Same for me. My ex coworker would send me emails that I would receive no problem. When I would reply, it would bounce back. She never believed me when I told her about it. How could a Korean email could do such a thing? Never... |

Hanmail has never delivered yahoo messages. They also won't deliver any form of attachment.
You don't want to deal with the type of people who use Hanmail anyway. |

Unfortunately, every Korean I know uses Hanmail.
Doubly unfortunately, the other Korean e-mail services (Naver.com, Nate.com, etc.) also reject e-mail from Yahoo and Hotmail.
It's very frustrating. |

I switched to a GMAIL account ONLY for emails to people with hanmail and whatever other Korean email addresses.
Gmail seems to work a lot better for this. My Yahoo email never seems to work with any Korean email service. |

One of the English rags did a story on this several years back. The excuse the Daum guys gave was because all the spam comes from foreign servers, so they just blocked everything. Therefore, no more spam. Nothing like not doing your job, you know, like using a fllter.
maybe they should look in my spam folder and count the number of Korean spams I receive...numbers in the hundreds! Hey wait a minute, they DO use a filter to sort out the Korean spam... so I guess their excuse if full of shit |

Hey, thanks for the heads-up, guys. I evetually sent the e-mail by hotmail, and it got through. Plus, my yahoo account has been messing up a bit lately, even with non-Korean servers. So maybe the problem was on that end. |

I posted a thread about this a few weeks ago. Hanmail sucks. I have never had success in sending emails to hanmail. I've tried hotmail, yahoo, excite, and gmail --- none of them work. Whenever I look for jobs I groan whenever I see one with a hanmail account -- just means I can't apply. |
