In it it says weekends are not included as holiday days....does this mean if I have 7 days left I can leave on a Thursday and return on Sunday everning the next week?
Also it states that I will only have to teach a maximum of 40 hours in either the Summer or winter holidays....but they can still require me to be at school and sit at school twiddling my thumbs for the rest of the time? and is it at their discretion to give me the time off or not?

Can you post the exact wording from the contract? Copy and Paste it so we can just be sure before we respond. |

It looks like you have the old GEPIK contract, which stated a maximum of 40 hours of camp, so consider yourself lucky. In the updated contract each school can require you to teach 20 hours a week. This past summer I finished my summer camp at noon, but had to sit in the office until 5pm every day. It's really up to each school to decide whether or not you can leave early, or get extra vacation days.
And yes, the 7 days of vacation that you're given during each holiday period does not include weekends. If I were you I would try to set my vacation around the Lunar New Year holiday, thus you can have a 16 day vacation, after you include holidays and weekends. |
