I need to give power of attorney to someone back in the states. How do I do this since I'm in korea? It says it has to be notarized. |

Have your attorney email/mail it to you. Go to the Embassy and notarize it. Send it back home. |

Embassy can notarize a legal document? Don't you need a notary to do that? Many law offices also do notary work. |

Yes, embassy is a notary, so it can notarize.

if the U.S. embassy is a notary public, then they can notarize our diplomas, transcripts and CRC's as well. If that's true then all you'd need to do is mail all those notarized documants back to the state offices to get them apostilled, no? |
In power of attorney matters, the embassy will notarize. but yes, it should notarize everything also. But i would ask first. Maybe they only notarize certain things. |

I heard that they offer notary services from their answering machine message. Also, on the Job Discussion Board someone mentioned it as well.
It costs around $30 at the US embassy to notarize something (grrr...isn't it illegal to charge that much???). However, they can't apostilize(sp?) something since they didn't commission the Notary...I think.that.makes.sense.maybe |
