|

I was hoping we could make this a sticky.
If we could list all the places that require a visa to travel to depending on your passport and the length of time the passports are for and other information.
I found one thread in the search with this information for US passport visitors:
Philippines - no visa for stays of under 21 days
Singapore - one month visa-free
Hong Kong - one month visa-free
Indonesia - visa on arrival for $10 for seven days, $25 for 30 days.
Malaysia - three months visa-free, extendable for two more months
Cambodia - $20, passport photocopy and one photo (3 x 4 cm); good for 30 days, extendable for one month
Laos - $30 and photo for 15-day visa, available on arrival
Vietnam - not sure, but a visa on arrival seems to be available; other posters who've done Vietnam can help here
Thailand - one month visa-free
Taiwan - one month visa-free
Myanmar (Burma) - $20 for 28-day visa, two application forms, three photos, and itinerary. |

Is the 30 day Thailand visa really free? I thought they charged money for that. That would be sweet to get a free way to go. |

I'm a bit confused on Vietnam, Cambodia and Burma.
Can you get the visas for Cambodia and Burma on arrival or no?
I was researching Vietnam just yesterday everything I found online said US citizens need to apply for a visa before entering...so now I'm curious what other people have to say?
Oh, and I know China and Russia BOTH require visas before entering. |

I hear Hong Kong offers a visa-free stay of 90 days, not one month.
And Americans have to fork over $100 for a single-entry visa to enter China, sheesh! |

You can read what I said about getting your visa for Vietnam here. You need a visa for Vietnam unless you are from some certain Asian countries. But most of us here will need to get one.
They seemed pretty helpful at the embassy. Neither really helpful or un-helpful. |

its difficult to say because visa requirements vary between entry points, so you are listing misleading information, in addition the price can vary between nationalities - i know i Lao Canadians pay more for example |

I wouldn't say misleading really. I'd say trying to at least help for the majority of foreigner here. Most people are in the same boat when it comes to visa with exceptions of course. |
