A really funny moment in my classroom this morning...

A Korean Co-Teacher walked into the classroom this morning and gave me a big bow, failing to realise their was a sixth grade student standing right under him. BANG! Cue laughter and smiles all round. Thankfully no-one was hurt and the student also took it in good heart too.
Perhaps you can picture it yourselves or maybe it is just one of those 'You had to be there' moments.

Anyway, what funny things have you seen in your classrooms?

If you were involved, it would be a different story.

Well one of the teachers at my school got in some boxing practice this morning by punching a student in the chest a couple times and punching him on the side of his head. This was because he was late for school and entered late, but then ran away from the teacher who was trying to write his name down. The teacher found him quite easily because he never took off the scarf he was wearing.

Near the end of the first semester this year, I was on my way into the admin office and saw one 2nd year student (the school's a boys' middle school) kneeling outside the office with his arms in the air. I was surprised because he has never been in trouble. I asked him what he was doing there. He grinned and said, "It was a mistake but the punishment's worth it. I accidentally called one of the woman teachers 'ajuma' during class!"

All the women teachers in the school took umbrage. But the kid's a hero to all the other students--and to the male teachers!

I had 3 students come into class late on Tuesday and my coteachers took them back out into the hallway. When they came back into the class they where rubbing their foreheads and had tears in their eyes.

The problem is there is no happy medium. They either barely tap them or them beat the shit out of them like a man.

Holy hell!!! What was that video? He says 'mannunda' (sp?) while hitting her. I may be mistaken, but doesn't that mean 'I'm going to hit you?'

Anyone care to translate?
