|
|
By that, I mean posters using the word "friend" to ask people advice pertaining to themselves.
Such as:
"I am in need of help, a 'friend' of mine wants to know about....."
or
"I need help [dead givaway], a 'friend' of mine had recently walked into a friend's apartment and......."
When people know very well that the poster in question is basically asking for advice for themselves, not for anyone else.
Are people too embarrassed to come out and ask something that pertains to themselves in the fear of getting emarrassed on an anonymous message board such as Dave's?
Sounds like something out of middle school.......... |

Well, I happen to know that princess has a lot of troubled frineds, man.
If you don't want to read about people's friends on Dave's Cafe, then simply don't read Dave's, friend! |

Just because you don't have any is no reason to be critical.
(My friend told me to write that.) |

If you don't want to read "friend" innuendo on Dave's Cafe, then simply don't read Dave's Cafe. |

Quit saying that!
Everytime you say that, you make this place more appealing........
You know people will do the opposite of what you say...................... |

If you really want to know:
It evolved out of the drug culture.
the hive in the nineties- a site dedicated to helping other make meth
ex., "a friend has been washing their pfed but they haven't been able to get a usable end product...."
also popular is - A friend of a friend....or AFOAF
shroomery.com- a site dedicated to helping others grow PC shrooms
ex., " a friend of a friend has cased his PCs. One of the jars looked like it may have been contaminated- green mold...; should he trash the entire casing?"
and the various candia sites dedicated to help people grow the evil weed..
Also, Some one I know - SOIK
ex., "SOIK can't get their plants to flower. Could he possibly have all males?"
In the ESL world
a fiend has a private. what are her chances of getting caught? |

Are ya'll for real? None of ya'll have friends? WTF?
Maybe most of ya'll are in your 30's and don't hang out with cliques anymore, but personally, where I live in the States anyway, most of us have friends and those friends have PLENTY of drama...and maybe it's a small town thing, but it gets talked about CONSTANTLY.
I'm not saying that some of those posters truly are not airing personal things and saying it's a "friend", but in most of those cases they probably ARE friends.
I don't know, man, some of ya'll sound out of touch. No friends with drama? I find this hard to believe. Maybe as I said it's an age difference, a small town vs city difference (I'm sure people in say, Pohang DO have friends with drama/issues ha!) or just being in a foreign culture difference.
Hell do none of ya'll WATCH friends? (on tv) or check the myspace pages there are cliques of 200-300 people.
Trust me that makes for a lot of "friend" scenarios.
No friends. Weird. |
